Teen Support…and why it matters
Through my work supporting women in motherhood, I’ve come to understand how much of our experience as mothers can be shaped by the relationships we have with ourselves and others long before we ever become parents. The teenage years can be such an important time for developing that sense of self, navigating relationships, building confidence, and learning how to understand and express our emotions.
Of course, my work with teens is not about preparing them for motherhood. It’s about supporting them right now, through the experiences and challenges that matter to them. I believe that having a positive experience with therapy during the teenage years can create a foundation for reaching out for support and caring for your mental health throughout life. I am continually inspired by the resilience of the young people I work with, and I often find that I learn just as much from them as I hope to offer in return.
