What is Girls Club?
Girls Club is a 5-week, in-person workshop series created by Annie Wolf, thoughtfully designed as a space for girls to:
recognize, celebrate and appreciate their unique selves
practice self-love through journaling and affirmations
learn about and appreciate their female bodies
ask questions in a safe, comfortable environment
learn about the body changes that happen during puberty
celebrate what it means to be a girl
connect, explore, learn and grow alongside other girls
Girls Club is facilitated by a Registered Social Worker and you may be eligible for reimbursement through your employee health benefit program.
What Do Girls Take Away?
Across the five-week series, girls have opportunities to:
build confidence and self-awareness
develop a healthier relationship with themselves
explore emotions and learn healthy ways to express them
practise communication, listening and peer support
strengthen friendships and connection
learn about age-appropriate health and wellbeing topics
discover their strengths and individuality
develop tools they can carry with them beyond Girls Club
Inside a Girls Club Session!
JOURNALLING
A quiet opportunity to slow down and check in with themselves. Through journaling, girls can reflect on their thoughts and feelings, notice what’s happening inside, and explore their experiences.
CIRCLE TIME
A welcoming opportunity to share, listen to others and practice connection. Circle time helps girls feel supported and reminds them that they are not alone in what they’re thinking, feeling or experiencing.
Each Girls Club session follows the same familiar rhythm, giving girls a sense of comfort and knowing what to expect each time they arrive. Within that rhythm, each part of the session has a special purpose — creating space for reflection, learning, connection, creativity and growth.
THE LESSON
Age-appropriate learning about emotions, relationships, changing bodies, puberty and growing up. Girls can ask questions, build understanding and feel more prepared for what’s ahead.
SELF-LOVE ACTIVITY
Creative activities help girls explore self-compassion, confidence and what makes them unique, while practicing kindness toward themselves. Girls are encouraged to recognize and celebrate their strengths.
AFFIRMATIONS
Each session ends with an affirmation girls can carry with them beyond the group. These positive reminders reinforce their strengths, worth and growing sense of self.
My Why…
My girls are my biggest why.
When my oldest turned eight, I started wondering how I could best support her as she began growing up. As a therapist and a mom, I know how important it is for girls to have safe adults they can ask questions, learn from, and talk to openly.
I wanted my girls to understand their bodies, know that what they were experiencing was normal, and always feel comfortable coming to me with questions.
That’s when I discovered Girls Club founder Annie Wolf and Celebrate Your Body. My daughter and I started reading it together at bedtime, and it quickly became one of my favourite little rituals. It opened the door to honest conversations and helped her understand the changes she was beginning to notice.
It reminded me that knowledge really is power. When girls have age-appropriate information and safe spaces to ask questions, growing up can feel a little less confusing — and a lot less scary.
When Annie opened applications for her first Girls Club Teacher Training, I knew I wanted to bring that same experience to girls and families in our community.
That’s what Girls Club is all about — and why I’m so grateful to bring it to Middlesex-Elgin.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! The Girls Club curriculum is designed with Grades 3–5 in mind, but this is not a strict rule. Readiness, maturity, and the overall fit with the group are also important considerations.
If there is significant interest, we can offer two groups for different age cohorts, allowing the curriculum and conversations to be more easily tailored to a younger or older audience.
Not sure if your daughter is ready for Girls Club? Please reach out — I’d be happy to chat about whether Girls Club would be a good fit for her.
-
Absolutely! Girls can repeat Girls Club. While the core themes may be similar, every group is a little different because the girls, conversations, questions, and experiences are always unique. Returning can also give girls an opportunity to deepen their understanding and build stronger connections.
-
Yes! Private Girls Club groups can be arranged for groups of friends, school communities, teams, or other groups of girls. If you're interested in bringing Girls Club to your group, get in touch and we can explore what might work best.

Making Girls Club accessible to as many girls as possible is really important to me. I recognize that the cost of programs can sometimes be a barrier for families, and I don't want finances to prevent a girl from participating. If cost is a concern, please reach out and we can talk about whether subsidized pricing or another option may be available.
Every girl is different. If you have questions about the program, your daughter's age, or whether this experience might be right for her, I'd be happy to connect.
