Hi, I’m Carrie.

I am a Registered Social Worker and mom of three girls. My work is rooted in supporting women, teen girls, and young girls as they grow, navigate change, and move through life’s transitions.

What started in 2023 as a private therapy practice supporting women through motherhood has continued to evolve in ways I never expected. Today, my work has grown to include Maternal Wellness Therapy, The Mama Healing Hub, and Girls Club of Middlesex/Elgin— different ways of creating spaces where women and girls feel supported, understood, and empowered.

I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Windsor in 2010 and returned to complete my Master of Social Work in 2015. Before opening my private practice, I spent 15 years working in fast-paced, crisis-driven social work, supporting children, youth, and families through some of life’s most challenging circumstances. In 2023, I made the decision to leave that career and build a practice that allowed for greater flexibility, a healthier work-life balance, and more availability for my own family.

Since opening my practice, I have completed specialized training in perinatal mental health and became a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist and Certified Girls Club Facilitator. As a Co-Founder of The Mama Healing Hub and facilitator of Girls Club, I now have the opportunity to support women and girls in both one-on-one and community-based settings — all rooted in the same belief that no one should have to navigate life’s transitions alone.

My Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. I believe that emotional wellbeing is connected to the whole person, and that meaningful support often involves looking beyond one piece of the puzzle.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an important part of my therapeutic approach. IFS helps us understand the different parts of ourselves — including the parts that may feel anxious, overwhelmed, critical, or protective — with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. I have found this approach particularly meaningful in my work with both adults and younger clients.

I also believe in the value of whole-body support. During my own postpartum wellness journey, naturopathic care was an important part of the support I received, and it helped me recognize how valuable it can be to look at mental and emotional wellbeing alongside physical health. Today, I work within a naturopathic wellness clinic where I have the opportunity to collaborate with other providers and support clients from a more holistic perspective.
